An autoexposure model in the Argus-Cosina partnership image by Donald Poirier (Image rights) |
Like the Argus/Cosina STL 1000 this was a camera marketed by the venerable but faltering US brand Argus, but engineered and built in Japan by Cosina. It seems to be a twin of the Cosina Hi-Lite EC. It is a rare example of aperture-priority autoexposure using M42 lenses without special proprietary adaptations, albeit via a slight lag and darkening of the viewfinder at the halfway point when depressing the shutter release.
