The Boy Scout Kodak was based on the Vest Pocket Kodak Model B, a simple folding bed camera. The camera belonged to a line of variants of the Vest Pocket Kodak Model B: Boy Scout Kodak, Girl Scout Kodak and Camp Fire Girl's Kodak, all designed by Walter Dorwin Teague. Even the sales boxes were graphical works of Teague.
