Adobe Photoshop is a program for manipulating digital bitmap images. It may be the greatest commercial success in graphics software. Despite alternatives such as GIMP, Paint Shop Pro and Aperture, Photoshop has become the best-known tool to rework digital photographs, and also a verb meaning to process a photograph (often with the connotation of deceit).

The program was introduced in 1988.[1] In 2002 it got the capability to work on RAW files, containing mage data from a digital camera's image sensor before compression into JPEGs.
