The renowned German brand of modernist appliances, consumer electronics, and shavers Braun is not related to the Bavarian Carl Braun Camera-Werk known for their Paxette 35mm models. Rather, Braun GmbH has a connection to photography largely through its electronic flash units, many of which originally carried the model name Hobby.

The Braun name also appeared alongside Nizo on a number of Super-8 cine cameras. Braun made some slide projectors, which should not be confused with the Carl Braun Paximat series. In the 1970s, "Braun North America A Division of The Gillette Company" distributed a series of camera lenses[1] sourced from a Japanese supplier, bearing the familiar tall-A Braun logo. These lenses are uncommon enough to suggest the venture did not last.
