Pentax EI-100

The EI-100 is a early digital camera from Pentax released in 2001. The lens is a 5.5mm (42mm equivalent) f/2.8. It can focus from 60cm to infinity. There is also a macro mode for shooting between 30cm and 60cm. There is no optical zoom but there is a digital 2x zoom feature. The shutter speed is from 1/10 to 1/800 of a sec. It uses a 1.3 megapixel a CCD based sensor. Images are captured with a maximum resolution of 1280 x 960 in the JPEG file format. A lower 640 x 480 option is also present. Each resolution mode has a quality setting fine, super fine and eco. This is can be changed by pressing the diamond button, the changes are indicated by star icon on the top LCD. More stars for better quality. There is a built-in flash mode that offers flash-on, and flash-off and red-eye reduction. The range of the flash is a bit limited with a distance of 0.4 to 2m. There is a optical view finder as well as a 1.8 inch LCD display. There is 8MB of built in storage and CompactFlash media is used removable storage. Power is with four AA batteries.
