About the Pentax/Cosmicar connection: Seen in Pentaxforums: As was mentioned, Cosmicar was an economy brand made by Pentax. I worked in a camera store back then. Our Pentax salesman asked how Cosmicar lenses were selling and we mentioned that Cosmicar didn't sound good. He said that some dealers had suggested using the Takumar name and we agreed. Later, the Cosmicars became Takumars.
