Images

@Voxphoto I asked the people to add the photos to the pool so that we would comply... they were fast (Jeff K and LiveActionHero)

Thanks, did you do that by Flickrmail? That wasn't visible to me. As one of the camerawiki pool admins I also used Flickr's own pool-invite function with the images you'd found. For images uploaded as "all rights reserved" we try to bend over backwards to affirm permission to use them (which is another reason to add a thank-you note in the comments under the photo linking to the article where their photo appears). I am sorry the Category:Image by… template is so screwed up (writing MediaWiki templates is beyond my skill set) but its attempt to autofill the information usually fails. It takes some manual sleuthing to figure out whether a contributor page already exists for someone (e.g. capitalization matters) and get the URLs in the right format. Cheers for all your work, --Vox (talk) 11:02, 4 July 2021 (UTC)

@Voxphoto A friend has a VG good collection but doen;t use flickr He offered to send me pictures and allow me to publish them in my account, how do I attirbute to him? Titrisol (talk) 18:06, 12 August 2021 (UTC)

Yes internal flickr mail. Good point, I'll add the thanks!

Agree wiki templates are a world on its own... I haven't figured out tables yet! PS- I don;t know how you sign this either

There are some examples on arranging images using table syntax in one of the help pages. Basically a pipe character prefixes each new "cell" and a pipe plus a dash starts a new row. The signature/timestamp thing is the curly button on the top row of the edit tools (equivalent is typing four tildes). --Vox (talk) 15:15, 4 July 2021 (UTC)

Diagrams -- Is it necessary to make my own lens diagram (elements/groups) drawings? I think the ones from the Pentax Books woul dbe under copyright? But if I make them in inkscape myself they are fair game right? Titrisol (talk) 17:40, 11 August 2021 (UTC)

References

I split the References into References/Bibliography /Notes for inline - Books/brochures and links to other places with more info Is that done routinely? --Titrisol (talk) 14:51, 6 July 2021 (UTC)

For consistency with other pages the Notes section likely should be titled "Links"—for any online resources touching on the page topic. If you need to write a side comment that might interrupt the main text, typically those would be footnotes mixed in with the refs that cite sources. --Vox (talk) 13:56, 7 July 2021 (UTC)
